The Gifted FOX superhero sci-fi drama centers on Reed and Caitlin Strucker (Moyer and Acker) and their teenaged children, Lauren (Lind) and Andy (White) — a seemingly normal family. When the kids manifest powers associated with the X-gene, the Struckers must go on the run and seek refuge with the mutants Reed once prosecuted.
Personally, I found this to be the most exciting and best episode so far. I have to admit that I thought the first three episodes were a bit slow, but I accepted that in order that everyone gets acclimated to what the show was and was about as it’s not your traditional X-Men type of offering. This episode brought this story to its arc in perfect balance, IMHO. Now, that all is set up for the Struckers to be part of the Mutant Rebellion, I’m fully on board to get on with it!
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly in the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. The Gifted is doing well now in the ratings and the show is holding its timeslot pretty well!
