Stephen Moyer’s tattoo finally revealed!

In early August, Stephen Moyer revealed on Twitter that he was finally getting a tattoo.  Below is the photo we posted on August 7 of Steve getting inked by at the Shamrock Social Club in West Hollywood.  It is the workplace of the renowned tattoo artist Dr Woo, hailed by the media as “the most in-demand tattooist in the world”.

I remember well, when covering the 2010 Scream Awards when Kristin Bauer had just gotten her tattoo that Stephen looked at it enviously telling her that he was thinking of getting one. However, he has hesitated for years, so this is pretty EPIC that he’s finally succumb. When he announced it, the fans were crazed to learn what the image might be. Some suggested West Ham United Logo or perhaps Anna or the children’s names, or an homage to True Blood, SOOKEH!

Anna Paquin said on Twitter that he would reveal what it is, once it settles down (see photo below):

Although still a work in progress, thanks to Dr. Woo who posted this pic on his Instagram, we now finally know what the tattoo or should we say tattoos are about: Stephen’s children.

  1. Wow, that is really lovely! Dr. Woo is an amazing artist. No wonder he’s so much in demand. I’m not surprised that Steve chose to do tattoos for each of his children. I can’t wait to see the others.

  2. Both are beautiful, and quite a good size. Looking forward to Stephen’s tattoos for Poppy and Charlie. Thanks, Lynn, for posting. And thanks to Rhonda for finding the January picture.

  3. Steve’s son was named Bill because of the song Billy Bigelow sang in Carousel. See below where you read the lyrics and you
can see the significance of the tree.

    Artist: Carousel the Musical
    Album: Musical/Ost
    Title: Soliloquy

I wonder what he’ll think of me
I guess he’ll call me the “old man”
    I guess he’ll think I can lick
    Ev’ry other feller’s father
    Well, I can!
I bet that he’ll turn out to be
The spittin’ image of his dad
But he’ll have more common sense
Than his puddin-headed father ever had
    I’ll teach him to wrestle
    And dive through a wave
When we go in the mornin’s for our swim
    His mother can teach him
    The way to behave
But she won’t make a sissy out o’ him
Not him! Not my boy! Not Bill!

    Bill… My boy Bill
I will see that he is named after me, I will.
My boy, Bill! He’ll be tall
And tough as a tree, will Bill!
    Like a tree he’ll grow
    With his head held high
And his feet planted firm on the ground
And you won’t see nobody dare to try
To boss or toss him around!
    No pot-bellied, baggy-eyed bully
    Will boss him around.
