Stephen Moyer’s feature film directorial debut: The Parting Glass

The Parting GlassAny Stephen Moyer fan already knows that he is currently directing a feature film for his production company, CASM, but it’s nice that a big press site like acknowledges what’s going on up in Toronto.

Today, Stephen tweeted the following link to an article about the film:

and we’re glad he did because the article has some new information about the cast and story. Below is what they had to say:

EXCLUSIVE:  True Blood‘s Stephen Moyer will make his feature directorial debut with The Parting Glass. Anna Paquin will star with Denis O’Hare, Ed Asner, Cynthia Nixon, Melissa Leo, Rhys Ifans and Paul Gross.

O’Hare wrote the drama, which follows a family reeling with their sister’s death. They embark on a journey to collect the remnants of her life. The family members delve into past memories to piece together a portrait of the woman they lost. Production begins momentarily in Toronto.

Paquin will produce with Moyer through their CASM Films banner, with Cerise Hallam and Mark Larkin, and O’Hare. Dan Beckerman of Scythia Films will executive produce and Lauren Grant of Clique Pictures will co-produce.

Paquin stars in two upcoming series, Alias Grace for Netflix, and Bellevue from Canadian broadcaster CBC. Moyer next stars in the Fox miniseries Shots Fired, which premieres March 22, and the ITV series Safe House in the UK. Paquin and Moyer, who did seven seasons of HBO’s True Blood, are repped by WME.

Anna Paquin and Denis O’Hare also joined in on the tweets (see below):

While it’s not actually very “EXCLUSIVE” information to us since we’ve already made many posts about the project it’s nice that the film and Stephen’s directing are getting some good and wide-ranging press coverage!

We enjoyed learning more about the plot and to see additional cast members listed. We previously reported that Denis O’Hare and Cynthia Nixon are included as cast along with Anna Paquin; but the listing of the additional cast members, Ed Asner, Melissa Leo, Rhys Ifans and Paul Gross, allows us to speculate what the film might be like when it hits theaters.

Since Denis O’Hare wrote the story, stars with such a great cast and Steve is directing, we’re sure it will be a MUST SEE! Congrats to CASM! We wish you the best!

Are you as excited as we are?  Let us know in the comments below!
