The filming of True Blood’s season 5 is more than half completed and we’re excited to see some new casting calls for the next episode 8. However, the biggest and most important news about this episode for us, is that Stephen Moyer, our own Bill Compton will direct, as noted in the information from IMDB below:

This is the first time a True Blood star has directed an episode and since we know Stephen has longed to direct, we’re thrilled for him.

However, we’re also not too surprised about it since we remember that during PaleyFest last year Stephen was asked if he wanted to direct an episode of True Blood. His reply was that he had hoped to do so. He also revealed then that he had already shadowed one of the directors to learn the ropes during Season 3. We wish him the best in his True Blood directing debut and cannot wait to see his episode.

  2. OMG! So excited for Stephen. I cannot wait. Also, I love the title of episode 8 because the song is sung by Goyte featuring Kimbra, whom I’ve been listening to lately. The songs pretty catchy.

  5. Just wonderful news! He was executive producer on “Free Ride” last year, and now directing on TB this year. I’m thrilled he’s getting to spread his wings and involve himself more fully behind the camera.
    I just hope he continues to work in front of the camera too. He’s such a talented actor!

  13. What awesome news! I’m so happy for Stephen that he will be able to realize his directing dreams, and on his very own show at that. And here’s hoping that title means we might meet somebody interesting from Bill’s past.

  27. Major props to Stephen that he will be directing! What’s especially exciting is that there will be a flashback sequence in this episode – those scenes are always my favourites and I’m sure Stephen will do a fabulous job!
