On the below TMZ video you can see how Stephen climbs out of the car after the crash.

Stephen impressed us all this afternoon,” said Les Unger, national motorsports manager with Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A. “The hard work and determination he displayed throughout our training sessions paid off. The commitment and enthusiasm of all the drivers competing in this event demonstrates exactly what the Toyota Pro/Celebrity Race is all about.”

I was really thinking about the charity,” said a happy Moyer at a news conference after the qualifying session. “I’m not as concerned with winning the race as I was about winning today so my charity, Racing for Kids, would get an extra $15,000 donation. It was a surreal experience—it felt like a roller coaster ride when my car flipped.”

  1. Thanks so much for posting the interview. Stephen sounds quite calm and collected after what he went through. I’m sure he was worried about his family, wanting to get word to him that he was all right. What a day and what an experience!

Congratulations again, Stephen, on your pole position win. That’s a lovely check for Facing the Atlantic.

  2. That picture of the car flipping over is quite a jaw-dropper. Big sigh of relief that he was able to get out of the car under his own power. Wow.

The interview was cute. He accomplished what he set out to do, in winning the $15,000 for the charity. Winning the actual race would be the icing on the cake.

  3. Holy shit. Glad it all turned out ok. Glad I wasn’t there live to watch it. What a heart stopping moment it must have been for Anna and his children. Whew. He walked away with a $15,000 cheque! I hope his family thinks it was worth it.

  4. Wow to see that pic of his car flipping like that is scary. So very thankful he was unscathed. That was a tough way to win that 15 grand.
Standing by to kiss bruises and boo boos and with a big roll of bubble wrap.

  5. OMG…got sick to my stomach there for a bit when I saw he flipped his car! I really feel for Anna, his kids, sister AND Lynn and Life to witness that. Scary. Glad he won $15,000 for Facing the Atlantic. Hope he’s not stiff and sore tomorrow. Anna, please wait until after the race tomorrow to slap him around a bit. Stephen – be safe tomorrow!

  6. Wow. My stomach flipped during that race, much like Stephen’s car! I’m so glad he came through unscathed and managed to win the big bucks for his charity. How awesome is that? Hopefully Stephen will be well-rested for tomorrow’s race and things will go smoothly. I’ll be rooting him on for sure.

  7. What a guy! I was quite different from what I’ve read today tomorrow. In Germany we have 16 April. I was glad when I saw the interview with him. I hope he wins the race not as dramatic. I wish him much success and he wins of course.

  8. This is our man! A little drama, no sleep to talk about and he wins!

It can just do a master’s champion! I think Stephen can win in today’s race! Go, Stephen,go and all Billsbabes keep all fingers crossed for you. ! You’re the best! But we already know that, right? !
