Sign the petition to bring Stephen Moyer’s The Barrens to a theater near you

The era where we silently consume whatever the film distributors decide to present at our local cinema has ended. Thanks to the Internet and all the amazing possibilities the new social media has to offer, the fans have gained a platform and a voice where they can tell the world what they want to see on the big screen.

Too many films worth watching receive only a limited theatrical release or go straight to DVD, films that we would love to experience on the big screen, films such as The Barrens.

Stephen Moyer shot The Barrens in Canada last year and we feel a special connection to this production, because of the tidbits of info tweeted from the set and not in the least because 3 brave fans managed to meet up with Stephen somewhere in the Canadian woods. You can read their story here.

We would like to send a strong signal to the distributor of The Barrens that we want to see this film in a theater near us, in our hometowns.

To make our voices be heard we have started an online petition.

We are calling all fans of Darren Lynn Bousman, Stephen Moyer, Mia Kirshner and the other cast members to sign the petition and help spread the word.

We will make sure that the distributor hears us!

Written and directed by Darren Lynn Bousman The Barrens tells the story of Richard Vinyard (Stephen Moyer) who takes his wife, Cynthia (Mia Kirshner); their young son, Danny (Peter DaCunha); and his teenage daughter, Sadie (Allie MacDonald) to the more than 1 million acres of dense forest known as the New Jersey Pine Barrens, where he becomes convinced they’re being stalked by the legendary Jersey Devil.
