THE SOUND OF MUSIC starred six-time Grammy Award winner Underwood stars as Maria with TRUE BLOOD star Stephen Moyer as Capt. Georg von Trapp plus 5-time Tony-Award winner Audra McDonald as Mother Abbess and you have a new version of this beloved Broadway musical classic.

UPDATE: We’ve just learned from a fan that The Sound of Music will be shown on Christmas Day in the UK.

  1. Im sorry but I thought it was terrible, didn’t even watch it all. I love Stephen Moyer but can’t stand Carrie Underwood. I’m looking forward to seeing him in his new movie The Death of Jesus.

  2. So happy they are re-airing SOML this year.  Before SOML, I had never even heard of Stephen Moyer.  I liked his portrayal of Captain Von Trapp so much that I decided to watch Season 6 of True Blood when it aired on New Year’s Eve.  I was hooked from the get-go, and now am a huge Stephen Moyer fan, excited to get to see him in future projects.  Stephen brought so much emotion to the role of the captain, I like his portrayal better than the film version.  Really looking forward to seeing the musical again.
