Ratings for Episode 8 of the Gifted and Season finale date

Below is information about the latest numbers for The Gifted’s first season and we’ve also learned the season finale date will be January 15.

In episode 8 of The Gifted we saw how Reed Strucker learned more about his family and that his father wasn’t the bad guy he thought he was. I was glad that Reed had that opportunity to bond with his father and learned that what he had done to and for Reed was for his own good. At the end of the episode, Otto continued this by making the ultimate sacrifice in order to protect his son and family.

The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly in the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. The Gifted is holding in the ratings and the show is competitive its time slot!

The ratings weren’t as good as last weeks, which I can’t understand since it was such a powerful episode providing a real pivotal point in the season. I predict that now, once others have seen the episode on demand that the next episode of the show will be higher.

Mark your calendars, The Gifted two-hour season 1 finale will air January 15 at 8pm on Fox.

We’ve also learned that there are to be 13 episodes. That means that there will probably be a few “bi-weeks” in the schedule of the show over the Christmas and New Year’s day holidays.

  1. Definitely anticipate some by-weeks between now and January 15. I certainly hope the ratings pick up. Episode 8 was powerful, and as I commented in another post, the best one yet IMO.
