The Facing the Atlantic boys may be celebrating Christmas this year in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, but that doesn’t mean they won’t have the Christmas spirit. While the day will be a busy one as they keep to their schedule of rowing they will be signing carols and also singing the national anthem.
When we interviewed Bertie last April asking if they would have any modern conveniences on the boat, he said that they planned to drink a toast on Christmas, with champagne. Here’s what he said:
Any modern conveniences?
BERTIE: ”Not many. We will have our modern equipment like our GPS, radio phone, desalination machine, etc. but not much more. Since the row will take approximately 60 to 90 days, one luxury I do want to take is a bottle of champagne to have on Christmas.” I sure hope they get to do that, what a treat it will be!
Below is a video recorded before they set off on their journey across the sea where the teams talk about Christmas and send Christmas wishes to their loved ones. What a treat to see this!
MERRY CHRISTMAS! from Talisker Whisky on Vimeo.
Also, you can listen to James Cash speak from the boat which was broadcast this morning on BBC Radio London. Bertie was manning the oars as James spoke to the BBC. In the interview, James talks about the temperature being colder than he thought and that they are constantly soaking wet. He also talks about Facing the World, the charity they are doing all this for.
Listen by going to this link: http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/console/p00m92gx Forward to about 1.44 minutes and you will get just over 5 minutess of broadcasting!
We’re so proud to be even a small part of their amazing adventure and we wish them both a very “Happy Christmas” and all our wishes are sent to them for a safe and successful voyage.

Giveaway Prize: a CD and vinyl “Red Revelations” by Jace Everett.
Jace Everett is best know of course for proving True Blood with its awesome theme song “Bad Things”, but this Texas based singer/songwriter has a lot more tunes in him. His 2009 album “Red Revelations” holds 12 songs, an album brimming with attitude, guitar twang, and dark sensuality. One of the darkest, “Damned If I Do” was featured on True Blood’s third season, the lyrics could easily be a reflection of the complex love of a vampire for his human lover.
Everett: “I think the key for me was to make sure the world knew there was a hell of a lot more to me than “Bad Things”. I love the song and the “True Blood” intro is incredible. But I have a lot more to my music than just that.”, says Everett. And “Red Revelations” proved that in spades. From the Link Wray inspired rock and roll of “Possession” to the hauntingly psychedelic “Slip Away”, the record doesn’t let up in intensity.
Visit Jace Everett’s website for tour dates, more albums and info.
Prize ships internationally.

To celebrate the 2 year anniversary of AllStephenMoyer.com in style we have prepared a very special gift for our lovely readers to thank them for all the support and love we have received over the years.
In complete secrecy Lynn and Shad have been making trips to the University of Bon Temps where last month they took the final exam, which they past with honors, and were the very first to receive a degree in Moyerology.
Do you have what it takes to earn your degree in the science of Moyerology?
There is only one way to find out:
The Ultimate Stephen Moyer Quiz consists of a large number of Multiple Choice questions, True or False, Multiple Answer and Open Questions and is the very first quiz that covers Stephen Moyer’s life and work from his date of birth to the present day.
There are three categories of questions: Personal Life, Professional Life and Bonus Questions. ALL the answers to the Personal and Professional Life questions are common knowledge and can be found on AllStephenMoyer.com or by watching Stephen’s work. But…. NONE of the answers to the Bonus questions can be found there.
The Bonus questions were slipped to us by an anonymous source and you will have to use your imagination to guess the answers. And guess wisely because the Bonus Questions are worth a lot of points.
If you pass the test you will receive your degree in Moyerology in the form of a diploma that you can print and personalize with your name.
On Thursday, December 15th, Stephen Moyer and Anna Paquin went shopping at the outdoor mall in Los Angeles called “The Grove.”

We are giving away a signed copy of The Donor by Helen FitzGerald.
Australia born, but Glasgow based Helen FitzGerald writes thrillers and teen fiction. She’s been described as “a startling new talent in the edgier corner of the crime fiction scene.” Her adult novels have been translated into numerous languages and widely praised as “glorious black comedy” and “thinking women’s noir”.
Her fifth novel “The Donor” tells the story of Will, a single father with 16 year old twin daughters. One daughter suffers kidney failure and Will is a match, he could donate his kidney to save her life. But then his second daughter also falls ill. Time is critical, and Will has to make a decision. Should he buy a kidney – be an organ tourist? Should he save one child? If so, which one? Should he sacrifice himself? Or is there a fourth solution – one so terrible it has never even crossed his mind?
FitzGerald is the wife of Sergio Casci, the screenwriter of Stephen Moyer’s film “The Caller”. Stephen started reading “The Donor” when he was in Puerto Rico for the premiere of “The Caller”, Helen tweeted about that, I picked it up and posted about it on AllStephenMoyer.com. The info spread over the web, while poor Stephen was still on page 1 and checking his hotel room for hidden cameras. He loved the book btw.
You can read the first pages of “The Donor” online.
Follow Helen FitzGerald on her blog and check out her books on Amazon.
Prize ships internationally.
