Today, an article giving further details about the film has been released.  Read  more below:

What was the famous Hatton Garden Job?

The robbery was and is still considered to be the biggest burglary in English legal history when four elderly but experienced thieves robbed an underground safe deposit facility in London’s Hatton Garden.

They stole a total value of up to £14 million but were soon caught and arrested with all four – including another four men – pleading guilty and receiving prison sentences.

Now the story of the criminals and the remarkable heist is about to be told on the big screen by an all-star cast.

But what is The Hatton Garden Job all about, who’s in the cast and when is it released? Here’s what we know.

The Film: The Hatton Garden Job

This British-made film tells the story of the Hatton Garden heist which took place in April 2015 and saw the four men used a drill to bore their way into the vault wall, before stealing 73 boxes containing gold, diamonds and sapphires.

It is the first feature film to tell the story of the audacious burglary, the events leading up to the robbery and the aftermath that left victims robbed of their life savings.

The film picks up with a mysterious thief, who is presented with an opportunity to take down the exclusive Hatton Garden Vault just days after leaving prison but it’s an old school job, requiring old school skills.

The convict recruits a team of veteran British criminals all eager for one final chance at glory but they must try to stay ahead of the law, dodge hired mercenaries and make deals with the head of the Hungarian mafia.

Who’s in the cast of The Hatton Garden Job?

Larry Lamb – who is best known for playing Archie Mitchell in EastEnders and Mick Shipman in Gavin & Stacey – stars as the heist mastermind Brian Reader, now Britain’s most prolific thief.

He is joined in the cast by Joely Richardson (Erzebet Zslondos), who is best known for her roles in Nip/Tuck and The Tudors, Downton Abbey and The Imitation Game’s Matthew Goode and True Blood’s Stephen Moyer.

Also starring is Phil Daniels (Quadrophenia), David Calder (Rush, Lady in the Van) and Clive Russell (Sherlock Holmes, TV’sGame of Thrones).

Presenter/actress Sarah-Jane Crawford (TV’s The X-Factor) and Mark Harris (Offender, Abducted) round off the cast.
