New Beginning for True Blood watching with Amazon Prime

Could this be the beginning of the end of Cable’s hold on HBO?  We’ve just learned of a new licensing agreement between Amazon and HBO makes Prime Instant Video for the exclusive online-only subscription home for a range of HBO programming, including True Blood.

This means that you can get your True Blood streamed to your favorite device without a cable subscription! This is huge since HBO has never streamed their content other than on their own HBO GO!

So, for the first time ever, HBO series such as The Sopranos, Six Feet Under, The Wire, Big Love, Deadwood, Eastbound & Down, Family Tree, Enlightened, Treme, early seasons of True Blood and Boardwalk Empire as well as mini-series like Band of Brothers, John Adams and more will be available on Amazon Prime Instant Video. Previous seasons of other HBO shows, such as Girls, The Newsroom and Veep will become available over the course of the multiyear agreement, approximately three years after airing on HBO.

This is also the first time that HBO programming has been licensed to an online-only subscription streaming service. This programming will remain on all HBO platforms. Additionally, HBO GO will become available on Fire TV, targeting a launch by year-end.

HBO has produced some of the most groundbreaking, beloved and award-winning shows in television history, with more than 115 Emmys amongst the assortment of shows coming to Prime members next month,” said Brad Beale, the director of content acquisition for Amazon. “HBO original content is some of the most-popular across Amazon Instant Video—our customers love watching these shows. Now Prime members can enjoy a collection of great HBO shows on an unlimited basis, at no additional cost to their Prime membership.”

“Amazon has built a wonderful service—we are excited to have our programming made available to their vast customer base and believe the exposure will create new HBO subscribers,” said Charles Schreger, the president of programming sales for HBO.

“As owners of our original programming, we have always sought to capitalize on that investment. Given our longstanding relationship with Amazon, we couldn’t think of a better partner to entrust with this valuable collection,” said Glenn Whitehead, the executive VP of business and legal affairs at HBO. “We’re also excited to bring HBO GO to Amazon’s Fire TV. The features like unified voice search will provide a compelling experience for HBO customers.”

Beginning May 21, Amazon Prime members will have unlimited streaming access to:

  • All seasons of revered classics such as The Sopranos, The Wire, Deadwood, Rome and Six Feet Under, and of recent favorites such as Eastbound & Down, Enlightened andFlight of the Conchords
  • Epic miniseries, including Angels in America, Band of Brothers, John Adams, The Pacific and Parade’s End
  • Select seasons of current series such as Boardwalk Empire, Treme and True Blood
  • Hit original movies like Game Change, Too Big To Fail and You Don’t Know Jack
  • Pedigreed documentaries including the Autopsy and Iceman series, Ghosts of Abu Ghraib and When the Levees Broke
  • Hilarious original comedy specials from Lewis Black, Ellen DeGeneres, Louis CK and Bill Maher

The multi-year deal will bring additional seasons of the current series named above, along with early seasons of other series like Girls, The Newsroom and Veep to Prime members over the life of the deal.

Stephen Moyer & Anna Paquin support “Slates for Sarah”

Last week, HBO published the photo below of Stephen Moyer and Anna Paquin showing their support for “Slates for Sarah.” I didn’t realize at the time, how horrific the story of Sarah’s death was until I read the article about it on “The Hollywood Reporter” today. I was just floored that this sort of thing could have happened and I just hope that it never happens again. I strongly suggest that you read the article by The Hollywood Reporter,” to learn more about what actually happened.

Please show your support by going to the Facebook page and clicking the LIKE button.

We’re glad that Steve and Anna too support Sarah and hope that something will be done to end unnecessary tragedies like this.

The video below tells more about the story:

Stephen Moyer has lots of experience with kids!

Anna Paquin admits it’s very convenient raising her 16-month-old twins with a husband who has lots of experience with kids.

All the jokes about the dads and the diapers, and them being useless, he’s not!” Paquin told ABC News about her husband and “True Blood” co-star Stephen Moyer.

I like poo,” Moyer joked right back.

Moyer already has two adolescent children from before the couple married in 2010, so he added that the step-kids were a great “little starter” for the new mother.

My kids have been with us a lot, so Anna already had a huge understanding of that, she’s very much part of their lives,” Moyer said.

The all-star couple spoke to ABC News as part of a new movie “Free Ride,” starring Paquin and produced by Moyer.

Moyer and Paquin are really enjoying their new twins, they said, especially after they were born a few weeks premature in 2012.

“You just do what you have to do. We weren’t the only people who have gone through that situation,” Moyer said of the babies’ rough start. “There’s loads of other people we got very close to in a similar situation.

The “Sound of Music Live” star added that the experience only brought his family closer together.

It brings you together in a sense that you can’t not do it. You have to be there and do the best you can,” he said. “I don’t think there’s any right or wrong way of it going, you just do what you can at the time.”

Now, the twins are doing great and even before they were born, Anna’s protective, mothering instincts were apparent on the set of her new film.

Moyer explained that when he visited the production for “Free Ride,” he noticed a “beautiful sense of the family unit.”

Ava, who plays [Paquin's] youngest daughter [Shell], she would sort of come over and just be next to Anna,” he said. “She becomes incredibly mothering of kids when they are on set.

It’s “such a powerful story, I think a lot of people wanted to be part of it,” Paquin said of playing a mother who turns to dealing drugs while in search of a better life for her kids.

Free Ride” is out in theaters today in New York, Los Angeles and Video on Demand, and stars Paquin, Drea de Matteo and Cam Gigandet.

Breaking Bad fan Stephen Moyer receives props from set

It’s no secret that Stephen is a hug fan of the hit show “Breaking Bad” and he has mentioned being a fanboy in several interviews. Creator Vince Gilligan picked up on that and started sending him props from the series.

Stephen says, “I was a Breaking Bad fanatic. In fact I spoke about it so much… I was such a big fan that Vince Gilligan started sending me gifts to say, ‘Thank you’. “I’ve got one of (lead character) Walter White’s masks on my shelf in my office.”

If you haven’t seen “Breaking Bad”, pick it up somewhere because it is an amazing show!
