Stephen Moyer as Pontius Pilate in "Killing Jesus"
Stephen Moyer plays the Roman Governor in the new film, "Killing Jesus" which is scheduled to be seen in Spring 2015 on the National Geographic Channel.
As we know, Carrie Underwood is taking on the role of Maria Von Trapp in the new NBC live TV presentation of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s classic family-friendly musical THE SOUND OF MUSIC and an extensive first look at the performer in action and singing the show’s most famous songs is now available. And additionally, Stephen Moyer shows off an attractive baritone duetting with Underwood on “Edelweiss” in the new clip collection showcasing the accomplished company of actors in rehearsal, out of costume.
“I respect this project, this idea and everybody involved so much, because we are putting it all out there – and there’s a good chance somebody is going to screw up at some point,” Underwood understandably states with a hearty laugh.
In the video below we see Carrie performing “My Favorite Things”, and she and Stephen singing “Edelweiss” and more score hallmarks in this new preview of the television event coming early next month. It’s good to finally get some video of Stephen singing one of the songs in the show. Of course, we applaud his signing as we did at his performance in Chicago at the Hollywood Bowl last summer.
THE SOUND OF MUSIC, directed by Beth McCarthy-Miller and Rob Ashford, produced by Craig Zadan & Neil Meron, airs on December 5 at 8 PM on NBC.
So lovely to hear the "Edelweiss" duet ... such a treat to hear Stephen ... also, Carrie, the children, and the nuns. This is going to be an amazing production!!!!
I love it! What a great piece on TSOM and I especially am enchanted by the duet "Edelweiss" between Carrie and Steve.
We knew she could sing, but damn, Bill Compton ....I mean...Stephen Moyer can sing his cute little ass off!!!! YAY!
